Perinatal Mental Health
Starting a family is a big move. Your life will change dramatically. Women often experience a change in their mental health during this perinatal process-conceiving, pregnant, and postpartum. This can be signs of anxiety, depression, or other mood disorders. Sometimes, these shifts come out of the blue, other times they increase with pregnancy. Whatever the circumstance, having space to explore your feelings and prepare for this monumental change is so important. A therapist can help you on the journey of discovery and be a good addition to your care team while undergoing this life transition. We've found women in this stage of life tend to ask themselves “why am I like this? Is it just me?” which can lead to a path of isolation and increase in symptoms. By allowing yourself to speak openly about your feelings, you’ll learn more about yourself and hopefully be less alone.
Any manner of creating a family is accepted and welcomed. We've worked with women of varying backgrounds through adoption, surrogacy, IVF, pregnancy loss and more.
