EMDR

Katherine uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as a tool for clients with varying needs. Clients often become interested in incorporating EMDR after feeling stagnant in traditional talk therapy.  EMDR helps to activate your brain to reprocess past painful events or memories. Unlike other forms of therapy used to address traumatic experiences, there is not much verbal recounting of the event, but an emphasis on free association. To prepare for EMDR, Katherine helps clients to strengthen their mind body connection through a series of mindfulness exercises. A full explanation of EMDR principles and how they may help to reframe painful events and memories will be reviewed before starting treatments.
